Higgledy Piggledy (DB Magazine/music
street press)
==============
If you think it bizarre to be treated
to a very shakily set up travel slide
show by a tall, long nosed, helium voiced,
fully fledged court jester, then just
wait til you see where this show goes
to from there. After the off the cuff
display of happy snaps and scuttled naration
that sees Rumpelstiltskin aka Jolly Goodfellow
(his actul name, true!) in front of and
around many of the world's best known
landmarks and places of worship taken
during his travels through near sixty
countries (thirty-one of which he's performed
in), he then takes two suit cases and
a big box and the real havoc begins. What
follows is a literal grab bag of mayhem
and silliness that's either going to make
you laugh hysterically along with him
or stupfy you with sheer disbelief. As
a court jester, complete with the traditional
patchy bell ridden outfit and multironged
hat, Goodfellow's singular aim is to entertain
by any abstract means possible, and by
that very nature of his vocation he certainly
takes the pratfalls well. Boasting a huge
assortment of wind up, battery operated
and rubbery toys, together with a very
bad LP record collection as a soundtrack,
these items are randomly swooped upon
from either a unicycle or huge spring
loaded shoes at breakneck speed ceremoniously
juggled and haphazardly discarded.This
night there were nappy wearing armadillos,
rubber brains, feather boas and the Bee
Gees as well as some juggling of false
teeth inside his mouth whilst on a pogo-stick.
Taking time out from all this giddy physical
buffoonery, there was also a very clever
spoken section which included a hurried
recital of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to
Heaven using Spoonerism. 'Higgledy Piggledy',
with all it's madcap pandemonium, is a
comically filled cacophony of sight and
sound that will leave you both exhausted
and reeling.

Rip It Up Magazine(music street

==============
Friggin' crikey.Uncontrolled chaos, an
endless supply of props and novelties,
a bizarre slide show, mayhem, stream of
consciousness throwaways at a cracking
pace, a show without end, Rumpelstiltskin
is a 'clown without boarders'.Lyric pastiches,
physical gags, juggling, unicycling, music(sort
of). A good percentage of the crowd spent
the hour in hysterics, others with permanent
smiles, while others were just dazed and
confused. Go and see a fool at the top
of his game.
